Franklin Bakery moved to a new building in Ventura Village
in late 2004. Their café is a great addition to our neighborhood.
The renovated Franklin library just opened earlier this year, and will continue to serve our neighborhood for many years.
Roger Beck Florist opened a new shop in a renovated space at the corner of 11th and Franklin earlier this spring.
The Franklin - Portland Gateway is a joint project of Hope Community and CCHT. The anticipated groundbreaking for Phase IV is uncertain. This will include 75 units of mixed income housing.
Project for Pride in Living (PPL) completed their new headquarters in Fall 2004.
Franklin Art Works is a visual and performing arts center active in our neighborhood since 1999.
Ancient Traders Market, a revitalized and renovated shopping mall, has brough many exciting businesses to Ventura Village, including María's Café and Aldi's Supermarket.
The new light rail (LRT) line opened in summer 2004 and includes a convenient stop for Ventura Village at Franklin and Hiawatha.
City County Federal Credit Union (CCFCU) just completed this new full-service branch in the summer of 2005.
The Children’s Village Center/Hope Community, Inc. building was completed in 2003 and is Phase I of the Franklin - Portland Gateway, a joint project of Hope Community and CCHT.
Many Rivers East, the first phase of a 75 unit affordable housing/mixed use development by AICDC, was completed in summer 2003.
Many Rivers West, the second phase of a 75 unit affordable housing/mixed use development by AICDC, will be completed later this year.
Peavey Park is home to many activities for our youth.

The Jourdain was completed in 2006. It includes 41 units of mixed income housing and 4,000 square feet of street level commercial space, including a grocery store.
The Wellstone, Phase III of the Franklin - Portland Gateway, is a four story, mixed-use commercial and residential space that broke ground in 2007 and will be completed in late 2008.
Hope Community, Inc. owns a number of properties in Ventura Village - this red house was the organization's beginning.
