Minutes of the October 9th, 2024
Ventura Village General Membership Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:01pm by Chair Marti Maltby
Those present at the meeting introduced themselves. Throughout the meeting 13 members attended. Kali Pliego (CPS) and Lt. Carroll (MPD) gave the CCP/SAFE Crime & Safety Update. Council Member Osman gave the City Council Update.
Motion: (R. Peterson/Watson) Approval of the October 9, 2024 proposed agenda. Passed (10 yes/0 no/0 abstain)
Motion: (Watson/Adam) Approval of the September 11, 2024 minutes. Passed (8 yes/0 no/2 abstain)
Motion: (Watson/Adam) Recommendation 2410-1: To approve the expenditure of up to $500 for shirts for the “Bus Stop Guardians”. Passed (10 yes/0 no/1 abstain)
Motion: (Ihde/R. Peterson) Recommendation 2410-2: To support the expansion plans (as presented) for the Our Saviour’s Shelter. Passed (10 yes/0 no/1 abstain)
Motion: (R. Peterson/Watson) Recommendation 2410-3: Move that Ventura Village uses the same budget for 2025 as 2024 for the NCR application. Passed (11 yes/0 no/1 abstain)
Motion: Recommendation 2410-4: If the city will accept the 2024 Equitable Engagement Application without revisions to be used for 2025 then we won’t submit changes. But if we have to submit a 2025 revised application then we accept Ray’s submission. No one moved the motion as stated above. A new motion for 2410-4 was made that reads: (R. Peterson/Watson) “Move to submit the online Equitable Engagement Application for 2025.” Passed (8 yes/0 no/2 abstain)
