Crime Victims
- Most assistance is for victims and witnesses of “violent” crimes; property crimes are not included. This Victim-Service-Directory- Sorted-by-County.pdf (pp. 19-26 list Hennepin Country services) illustrates this, indicating only one local service provider for victims of General Crime – Cornerstone. 24-hour hotline: 866-385-2699 Text: 612-399-9977
- Victim Compensation – City of Minneapolis – summarizes compensation types, presumably available only when defendant(s) is(are) identified: Restitution (money paid to you by the defendant) & Reparations (money paid to you by the state)
- Victim Services | Hennepin County and Restitution | Hennepin County – again, it appears this only applies when defendants are identified.
- If identity fraud results from break-ins, etc., there is Help for identity theft crime victims | Minnesota Department of Public Safety
- Although it probably is not designed to address property crime victims, the Crime Victim Justice Unit (CVJU) | Minnesota Department of Public Safety may be of assistance?
